‘We are thrilled to be joined by Robin Young, Ray Magliozzi and Doug Berman – a constellation of stars from WBUR who will light up the room,’  says Party Chair Maggie McNally. ‘In addition, we’ll have our own Food For Free star power at the party – past Executive Director David Leslie and his successor, Sasha Purpura.’  The annual event attracts long-standing and new supporters who mingle with the luminaries while enjoying food and drink donated by a stellar list of restaurants including Rendezvous, Stone Hearth Pizza, Upstairs on the Square and Cambridge Brewing Company. There is also a silent auction of items generously donated by local businesses and, for dancing the night away, live music by One Thin Dime.

About Food For Free

Bridging the gap between waste and want
Food For Free responds to local hunger by rescuing fresh food that might otherwise go to waste and distributing it within the emergency food system, where it can reach those in need.

Food For Free’s largest program, Produce Rescue, distributes fresh fruits and vegetables to more than 80 food programs that collectively serve approximately 25,000 individuals. Programs served include food pantries, emergency shelters, meal programs, clinics and youth centers. Food For Free distributed 1,020,000 pounds of food in 2011.

Food For Free’s other programs are Home Delivery,  Field of Greens and, introduced recently, The Transportation Partnership.  Program and other information is at www.foodforfree.org.  Food For Free is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
