Sept. 15. Join the Somerville Homeless Coalition for their 9th Annual Golf Tournament, which will be held at the Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland, Mass.
Golfers can check in the day of the event at 10a.m., followed by lunch. Shotgun start will be at 11a.m. The event will feature an 18-hole scramble, prizes, dinner reception, as well as a “Best of Day” awards ceremony. All proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization and the programs and services it provides to the homeless and near-homeless in Somerville and the Greater Boston area.
The cost to participate is $150 per person or $600 for a four-person team. Participants can sign up as an individual or in two-, three- or four-person groups. Event sponsorships are also available for businesses, starting at $150. A sponsorship guarantees the participating organization visibility to up to 144 golfers, exposure to visitors on the official SHC website, and mention in the newsletter and annual report.
Mon., Aug. 1, 6-9pm. Pig Pickins are a Southern tradition combining food and function for a finger-lickin’ good time. True to the tradition, Redbones slow smokes a whole hog and raises money for a community cause at the 10th Annual Pig Pickin’ and Benefit for the Somerville Homeless Coalition (SHC).
The event on Monday, Aug. 1 (rain date, Aug. 8th) takes place in front of the popular barbecue joint on Chester Street from 6 – 9 pm.
